Tzolkin Tzolkin, Mayan calendar stud earrings in sterling silver
They are made of sterling silver (925) handmade in my studio.
These earrings are custom made with two dates of your choice from the Maya Tzolkin calendar.
The Tzolkin is the civil calendar for Mayas in Central America and more specifically from Mexico. They used this calendar as a base to indicate a date and would complete it with other cycles if necessary (Haab and Long Count). You can find all the explanations on the following link:
This calendar was the main one for the Mayas. Therefore we offer you to choose two important dates for you to make your custom made earrings with Maya glyphs. These dates could be your birthday and your husband or boyfriend’s birthdays, the birthdays of your children, important dates of your life…
These post earrings are really one of a kind. It is artisan etched. The etching process takes times but the result allows appreciating the intricate and delicate patterns. The bas relief effect is really nice. The deeper part is matte and the upper part has been sanded and polished. Shiny finish.
Etching is an artisanal process which produces a unique design each time I use it. Two pieces with a same design will never be exactly the same by the hazards of the process. Each detail makes a unique piece.
They are 1 x 1.3cm (approximately) depending on the date numbers added to the glyph.
This set is custom made. I will need 3 working days to finish your order.
