ABOUT
Yashiro means "sanctuary" in Japanese language. This necklace is composed of a silver chain with a pendant engraved with Japanese motifs formed of stylized flowers. These are cherry blossoms that symbolize in Japan the idea of ephemeral, whether beauty or life. It is also a lucky symbol used in the tea ceremony, partly for a wedding. These flowers have the distinction of opening when you pour hot water on it.
The pendant was handcut in the shape of a triangle in order to remind of the sanctuary idea.
The links allow the pendant to slide along the chain.
Metal: sterling silver.
Size: 45cm long.
Finish: shiny (high relief) and oxidized (low relief).
